Cefn Coed Under 7s  40
RTB Ebbw Vale Under 7's 15

In the Wolf Cubs 1st game of the morning they ran out worthy winners running and passing the ball well. Try scorers were Coby-Jay Harris (4), Logan Williams (2), and 1 try apiece for Connor Friel and Charlie Scrivens. Top Taggers for Cefn were Rossi Davies, Emmie McIntyre and Iestyn Oakly.

Cefn Coed Under 7s  25
RTB Ebbw Vale 7s 20

In the 2nd game of morning the younger Under 7s also played a superb game of Tag rugby also running out worthy winners. Try scorers were Ethan Mason (2), Mason Thompson (2), and Peter Richmond. Top Taggers for Wolf Cubs were Rocco davies, Josh Morgan and Cameron Williams.

Brecon Under 7's 35
Cefn Coed Under 7's 35

A brilliant game of rugby played by both teams in very cold conditions. The Wolf Cubs looked to pass the ball on every occasion. Try scorers were Ethan Mason with a hat trick, Coby-Jay Harris (2), Logan Williams and Connor Friel. Top Taggers were Max Bennett, Iestyn Oakly, Cameron Davies and Charlie Scrivens.

Brecon Under 8's 20
Cefn Coed Under 8's 25

In another thrilling game involving the Mini Wolf Cubs Cefn produced probably their best all round display of the season. However both teams deserve real credit for playing excellent passing rugby in bitterly cold conditions. Brecon took an early lead before man of the match Will Bush stormed through the Brecon defence to level the scores. Some excellent pressure defence by the Mini Wolf Cubs During an attacking phase by Brecon created a turnover that saw a flowing move finished off by the tenacious Will Bush. Brecon again drew level just before the break with a dash for the line ending in a try despite a superb defensive effort by Molly Reardon and the ever improving Dainton Oakley who has his best game to date for Cefn. The second half continued in the same vain with early scores by speedster Rhys Evans and Ewan McIntyre finishing off a trade mark break by Rowan Jones. A determined Brecon team were not to be out done and each time pulled the scores level. However with James Cummings and Alex Regis pulling the strings in defence the last play of the game saw Ewan McIntyre pull free of Brecon's defence only to be tagged at the try line but up popped Rowan Jones to finish the game with a flourish.

Brecon Under 9's 20
Cefn Coed Under 9's 35

In a hard fought game in freezing conditions, the Wolf Cubs came up against a very strong determined Brecon side. Cefn opened the scoring from the kick off after a surging run from Cameron McIntyre was stopped short of the line only for the ball to be spun to Captain Aled Rawson to go over for the 1st of his 2 tries. After another surging run from Cameron Davies, Joseph Reardon fed Jac Powell who dived over in the corner. However Brecon's big forwards were causing Cefn problems and with half time score being 20-10 in Cefn's favour they knew they couldnt relax. The 2nd half was a similar story with the freezing conditions not helping the players handling. However further tries from Rhys Wilkins and a hat-trick from Jac Williams sealed the win for Cefn. All the boys played well this morning in particular Elis Sullivan and Cian Roome  in attack and Daniel Matthews and Molly Reardon having their best game to date in defence. However the Wolf Cubs man of the match has to be for his Demon like tackling and general all round play goes to Ifan Roome.

Brecon Under 10's 40
Cefn Coed Under 10's 10

The Wolf Cubs after their superb win last week were brought back to earth a bit by a very strong Brecon side. However they never gave up trying as has been their hallmark all season. Try Scorers were Tom Bush and Talyn Griffiths and for his strong running all game man of the match for Cefn goes to Oliver Rees.

Brecon Under 11's 60
Cefn Coed Under 11's 10

Today showed signs of a good team, but only when everyone worked together, offloading and supporting each other. First over the whitewash was Ethan Park receiving the ball from a team mate who was looking for his support. Next over the try line was our newest player Morgan (?), showing support and aggression to force over the try line. Good work from the backs, much better realignment from them today. Joshua Evans showing consistency and adaptability by playing either in the forwards or backs, making a good impact earning him man of the match for the backs. Owen carried the ball very well, looking for work and showing good rucking skills, making him man of the match for the forwards. Captain today was Thomas Sullivan.

Cefn Coed Under 8s 25
RTB Ebbw Vale Under 8s 30

An excellent performance from the Wolf Cubs with the team showing excellent handling skills in particular Rowan Jones and Rhys Evans. Wolf Cubs try scorers were Ewan McIntyre ( 2 ) James Cummings 1, Rhys Evans 1,  Rowan Jones 1. Man of the match was Wil Bush and Evan Davies was the captain for the day.

Cefn Coed Under 9s 25
RTB Ebbw Vale Under 9s 5

The Wolf Cubs captained by Molly Reardon came up against a much improved Ebbw Vale side from when they met earlier in the season, and with the heavy blustery conditions not helping their passing game Cefn struggled to gain any momentum in their attacks. However they still managed tries from Rhys Wilkins, a length of the field effort from man of the match Elis Sullivan and a hat trick by Jac Williams.

Cefn Coed Under 9s 30
Tonyrefail Under 9s 10

The Wolf Cubs 2nd game of the morning saw them play a strong Tonyrefail outfit, and in a much improved performance from earlier led by captain Cameron Davies they ran out worthy winners. Highlight of the game was when Tonyrefail were camped on the Cefn line for 5 mins before half time but the Wolf Cubs refused to let them cross the whitewash. Cefn's tries came from Jac Powell, Joe Reardon and 4 tries from the superb Jac Williams. Cefn's man of the match however for his outstanding defence goes to Cameron McIntyre.

Cefn Coed Under 10s 54
RTB Ebbw Vale Under 10s 5

In the Wolf Cubs best performance of the season to date they ran the ball from everywhere with the visitors having no answer to Cefns speed and handling skills . Cefn's try scorers were Evan Bennett, Scott Broom, ( Top Defender ) Dafydd Day, captain Dylan Jenkins, ( Team Player )  Dafydd Jones, ( best Attacker ) Tomos Jones, Cameron Jones and man of match Tom Bush, who unselfishly passed the ball to 2 team mates to score tries when he was away and clear himself.

Cefn Coed Under 11's  14          Gwernyfed Under 11's  35

The score line truly does not reflect the effort made by the players today.  Showing strong defence, rucking and ball carrying, earning them joint Man of the Match for the forwards were Owen Howells and Thomas Sullivan, both looking to work for the entire match.  Well done boys.  At a defensive scrum in our half the hosts look set to let loose their backs, but an interception and a long run by Josh Evans playing at 10 put him over the try line for our first score.  The tries against us today were all from the hosts playing the ball out wide and taking advantage of most of our backs bunching at the breakdown.  The forwards did well, but need to be more aggressive in the rucks.  When the backs were in position, they made their tackles count, especially Max Williams who probably made most of the tackles today, and made them head-on, he also successfully converted 2 tries.  During the second half Syd made another good break, but as he was tackled looked for support and linked with Josh Evans to put him over for today's 2nd try.   A close call today to pick a Man of the Match today for the backs, so many of the boys played out of position, and played well, Gabe, Syd and Josh to mention a few.  But Man of the Match for the backs today goes to Ellis Roome, who played a full game at scrumhalf and played it well.  Good delivery at the scrums, always behind the breakdown feeding the ball, at times rucking over when the forwards were to slow and making his tackles.  Good work Ellis.

Gwernyfed Under 10s  56           Cefn Coed Under 10s 14

The Wolf Cubs for the 2nd week running came up against superb opposition this week in the form of Gwernyfed. Tyler Watkins was captain for the day, with Tom Bush who scoring and converting both of  Cefn's tries.
The Coaches want to praise the effort the team have put in over the last couple of weeks.

Gwernyfed Under 9s 10 Cefn Coed Under 9s 20

The Wolf Cubs came up against the biggest side they have played this season and their bogey side from last year, and looked nervous at the start but soon started to play well and throw the ball around. Gwernyfed's tries came from 1st half defensive lapses but apart from that didnt really threaten Cefn's try line, Credit to the coaches as it looks like the hard work in training is still paying off with a superb all round display of attacking and defensive rugby. Cefn's try scorers were Captain Jac Powell and man of the match with a superb all round display as well as a hat trick of tries Jac Williams.

Gwernyfed Under 7s 40  Cefn Coed under 7s  30

Captained by Rossi Davies both teams produced an excellent game in bitterly cold conditions. The lead changed hands on a number of occasions with Gwynhyfryd running out narrow winners. The hugely impressive Logan Williams scored another 4 tries adding to his impressive total for the season.

Cefns other two tries came from Charlie Scrivens and Joshua Morgan. Top taggers were Solomon Entwistle, Jon Paul Barsi and Man of the match Coby-Jay Harris who was outstanding with his link up play and support of the ball.

Gwernyfed Under 7s 20  Cefn Coed under 7s 20

Captained by Jack McCarthy both teams agreed to have a second game due to the number of players in the Cefn squad. Scorers for Cefn were Ethan Mason with two tries, Peter Richmond and Coby Jay Harris. Top taggers were Oliver Abraham, Rocco Davies and Jack McCarthy. Cefn were unlucky not to sneak a win at the end but will settle for a well earned draw. Cefn have a number of players who will be eligible to stay with the under 7s for another year so this bodes well for the future of the club.

Cefn Coed Under 9's 55
Maerdy Under 9's 5

After a 4 week break due to bad weather and the Christmas and New Year holidays, the Wolf Cubs took a while to get back into their stride with the visitors testing their defence early on. However the work rate and willingness of the whole squad to support each other is beginning to show with no less than 8 separate try scorers in this game, namely Cameron Davies, Cameron McIntyre, Molly Reardon, Cian Roome, Elis Sullivan, Rhys Wilkins, Captain Jac Williams and Jac Powell who scored 4. Joeseph Reardon had an excellent game in defence, and Daniel Matthews and Jac Davenport both had surging runs setting up scores, but man of the match after some elusive running setting up several scores and not missing a tackle goes to Ifan Roome.

Cefn Coed Under 10's 0
Abercwmboi Under 10's 40

The Wolf Cubs captained by Scott Broom came up against a very strong Abercwmboi side, however the scoreline in no way reflects the effort and commitment the boys put in. Cefn's best attacker on the day was Dafydd Day, To Tackler was Cameron Jones and man of the match was Dylan Jenkins.

Cefn Coed Under 9's / 10's  15
Abercwmboi Under 10's  25

A mixed 9/10's Cefn team played against Abercwmboi Development 10's, and in a very close  entertaining game the result remained in doubt till the end. The Wolf Cubs try scorers on the day were Talyn Griffiths and Cameron Jones with 2. Great credit to Cefn under 9s who stepped up against their older opponents with great aplomb

Cefn Coed Under 11's 0
Ynysowen Under 11's 35

Today saw the young Wolves take on a very strong Ynysowen team.  A strong positive start to the game with some big tackles from Max Williams and Ethan Park who also provided good ball at number 10.  More commitment during rucks is required from the forwards and the backs are bunching again and not forming a defensive line.

Abertillery Under 7's 25
Cefn Coed Under 7's 45

The Wolf Cubs 1st game of the day was against hosts Abertillery, with Cefn running in a hat full of tries with some excellent handling skills being displayed. Try scorers were Mason Thompson and Logan Williams who both bagged a hat-trick. Connor Friel and Coby-Jay Harris 1 each and Rocco Davies who scored his 1st ever try.

Llanishen Under 7's 50
Cefn Coed Under 7's 60

The Wolf Cubs 2nd game of the morning saw them up against  Llanishen and another excellent display from all saw them run out eventual winners with tries coming from Coby-Jay Harris ( 3 ), Rocco Davies ( 2 ), Logan Williams ( 2 ) and Connor Friel. Star of the show was Mason Thompson who ran in ( 4 ) tries.

Llanishen Under 8's 30
Cefn Coed Under 8's 15

At the very cold Abertillery Park , it was a well organized Llanishen the young cubs faced first , from the off Llanishen's intentions were to play a wide game and to their credit they played it very well running
in some fine try's , not to be outdone the young wolf cubs defended wholeheartedly with the likes of Rhys Evans,Elijah Morgan Ewan McIntyre and Logan Duggan making some great defensive tags, it is becoming
increasingly difficult to pick a stand out player due to the team spirit shown by every player on a weekly basis, in particular this week Finley Dummett once again making a break and unselfishly passing to a
team mate before getting tagged.
It was Bradley Cox showing his versatility with some hard running and finishing his run with some fine footwork to put Cefn on the scoreboard, another swerving run from Ewan Mcintyre resulting in another try for
the young cub , The McIntyre's showing great rugby stock as it was the turn of young Joe to wow the spectators with a scintillating run up the middle only to be stopped short of the line by a last gasp defensive
tag from the opposition, on the restart it was time to send in the wrecking ball in the frame of Alex Regis who is now becoming a thorn in the oppositions side with his barn storming runs which resulted in his
first try of the session , although the young cubs were defeated in this first game the coaches were extremely pleased in the way the whole team played.

Abertillery Under 8's 10
Cefn Coed Under 8's 10

In a great second game of the day it was Cefn who got on the scoreboard first after some breathtaking inter passing going through several pairs of hands, a slick off load from Rhys Evans to the ever improving Connor Stevens who broke the line with a great angle to go over wide out for a try , young Will Bush James Cummings and again Elijah Morgan were superb in defence creating havoc with the opposition as their relentless pressure resulted in a turnover ball with the ever alert Cummings running from half way to score , wooing the crowd with what is becoming his trademark Chris Ashton celebration.
From the restart Abertillery showed some silky skills to run in a good try of their own, but it was Cefn who were showing training ground continuity with their defense as time after time an attack was halted , it looked as though the game was won but for the dogged determination of Abertillery who scored with the last play to tie the game.

Abertillery Under 9s' 10
Cefn Coed Under 9's 45

Cefn's first ever visit to Abertillery Park resulted in a try fest with the Wolf Cubs captained by debutant Daniel Matthews showing deft handling skills which defied their age. Jac Williams opened the scoring with the 1st of his brace straight from the kick off. This was followed by Rhys Wilkins 1st of the season where he broke several tackles on his way to the try line. Jac Powell not only scored ( 4 ) tries himself but set up arguably the try of the game when he pulled the whole opposition defence right then sent a long pass left to send Cameron Davies over in the opposite corner. Cefn's other try came from the ever improving Aled Rawson who scorched the length of the field to touch down. Cefns man of the match though goes to Joseph Reardon who set up several of the Cefn tries and tackled his heart out all game.

Llanishen Under 9's 20
Cefn Coed Under 9's 25

The Wolf Cubs captained by Joseph Reardon played their first ever fixture against a very good Llanishen team, in a ding dong battle the lead changing hands several times as first 1 then the other team gained the upper hand but it was Cefn's superb defence which eventually won the day Molly Reardon and Cameron McIntyre in particular pulling off several try saving tackles. Cefn's try scorers were Jac Williams
( 2 ) and Jac Powell whose hat trick try at the death sealed the win. Man of the match for The Wolf Cubs was Cameron Davies.

Abertillery Under 10's 10
Cefn Coed Under 10's 20

The Wolf Cubs showed some excellent passing and tackling skills on the day with Tom Bush and Scott Broome top tacklers, with Dafydd Day and Talyn Griffiths making good runs setting up Cefn scores. Cefn's try scorers were Dylan Jenkins, Cameron Jones,  Tyler Watkins and man of the match with a Shane Williams somersault to score his try was Evan Bennett.

Cefn Coed U11's  0
Llanishen U11's   25

A big powerful Llanishen team were held at bay for a while, but lack of commitment during tackling soon had the young Wolves on the back foot.  A promising debut start for today's captain Morgan.  There were moments of brilliance today however these moments need to last the entire game.  A mixed bag of hard graft and non aggressiveness gave an unstable platform to work from.  Static ball passing from the backs made an easy target for the opposition to hit.

Cefn Coed U11's  5
Abertillery U11's  15

A more dynamic game for the boys, Kian looking for the ball at penalties, better rucking from the forwards and at times the backs coming onto the ball at pace, Ethan Park for example from one of the scrums made great yardage.  Joshua Evans running the ball and looking for support scoring a great try at the final whistle.  Again tackling is key issue as well as realignment from the backs at the breakdown.
Today's team player goes to our new starter Morgan who got stuck in and showed good ball carrying and offloading skills.   Attacking player Joshua Evans for making good yards, running at the gaps and looking to offload.  Defensive player Josh Evans for a high tackle count, pressure at the scrums and an uncanny ability to win a counter ruck against larger players.

Cefn Coed Under 11's 5
Tonyrefail Under 11's 15

The Wolf Cubs try scorer was Kian Beddis, Best attacker was Max Williams, Best defender Gabe Morgan and Team Player was Ethan Parks. Also outstanding on the day was Joshua Evans and Cameron Fletcher.

Cefn Coed Under 10's 29
Tonyrefail Under 10's 26

A superb game of rugby which was a credit to both sets of players. The Wolf Cubs starting at a ferocious pace with their speedy backs Oliver Rees and Evan Bennett setting up  2 early scores. The game then swung end to end with 1st Tonyrefail with their big forwards holding the advantage then the speedier Cefn backs holding sway.  Cefn's tries came from man of the match Tom Bush ( 3 ) and the outstanding Cameron Jones.  2 of the Wolf Cubs tries were converted by 1st Dylan Jenkins and Jac Powell.

Cefn Coed Under 9s  25
Tonyrefail Under 9s  5

Another hard fought win for the Wolf Cubs with the Visitors making them work very hard for each of their scores with Joseph Reardon and Aled Rawson both showing up strongly in attack. Cefn’s best try was saved till last when first Jac Davenport and then Cameron McIntyre made surging up field when the ball was moved wide to Jac Powell who sent a long pass out to Cameron Davies to dive in the corner. The Wolf Cubs other scores came from the Speedy Jac Powell with a hat trick, Jac Williams. Both Elis Sullivan and Rhys Wilkins tackled their hearts out but Player of the match for her darting runs and superb tackling on the wing was Cefn's Captain Molly Reardon.

Cefn Coed  Under 8’s    40
Tonyrefail Under 8’s  45

There is never a lack of attacking flair and excitement in games these days involving the Young Wolf Cubs as they produced yet another fantastic display. All the players deserve great credit for the way they are playing at the moment as all the efforts made by the coaches in training is paying off.
Captained by Finley Dummett in the 1st half Cefn played some excellent rugby with the silky running skills of Logan Duggan, Bradley Cox and Evan Davies setting up 2 tries for Ewan McIntyre and 1 try each for Elijah Morgan and Finley. The first half ended all square as Tonyrefail also produced some great attacking rugby to keep the scores level pegged. Cefn made a number of changes for the second half and are now able to boast real strength in depth as they are able to bring players on of the quality of James Cummings, Will Bush, Alex Regis, Cory Davies and Joe McIntyre.
Captained by Cory Davies the second half started in the same vain with both teams adding tries almost from every attack. 2 tries for Will Bush and a try each for James Cummings and Rowan Jones, following another searing break down the touch line, were not quite enough to pip a very good Tonyrefail team who ran out eventual winners by a single score. Again it was a difficult call for the match awards because of the superb work rate and commitment of all the players. However the award for Best Attacking Player went to Logan Duggan who produced a number of clean breaks only to be tagged just short of the line but set up a number of tries for other players. The award for Best Defensive Player went to Elijah Morgan who time and again broke up attacking plays by Tonyrefail. The Team Player Award went to Joe McIntyre who contributed both in attack and defence but also showed great sportsmanship.
The team are building in to a very competitive outfit who will give any team they play a real run for their money.

Cefn Coed under 7s 25
Tonyrefail under 7s 25

Cefn played against a much older team as Tonyrefail could only field a mixture of under 7s and under 8s in their team. However Cefn more than held their own and played some attractive rugby with all the hard work the coaching team has put in on show for all to see. Cefn offloaded the ball to great effect and the number of mistakes were kept low.
Cefn’s scorers were Ethan Mason Coby Jay Harris, Charlie Scriven, Joshua Morgan and Mason Thompson. Top taggers were Max Bennett, Logan Williams and Cameron Williams.
Cefn pushed for the winning try til the final whistle but just fell short of what would have been a well deserved win. Cefn’s man of the match was Rossi Davies who produced some strong runs and was a terrier in defence.

Abercynon U11's 30
Cefn Coed U11's 10

A valiant effort today, the lads played with directed aggression.  Some of the tackling was outstanding, driving the opponents back over their own gain line.  Lee Morgan , Cameron Murphy, Gabe Morgan  and others making it very difficult for the home team out wide.  Some work still needed in defense from the set piece, but terrific covering on open play.   The score line should have been much closer.  So today's Team Player goes to Thomas Sullivan for calming a volatile situation at half time and trying to boost moral.  Defensive Player goes to Josh Evans, not only did he lift their biggest forward in a tackle but drove him back 5 meters before taking him to ground, also his ability to counter ruck and jackal for the ball which disrupted the home team no end.  Attacking Player is awarded to today's captain Ethan Park, who showed great skills with ball in hand, running good lines, offloading after committing defenders and taking the game head on to the home team.  Try scorers were Gabe Morgan and Ethan Park.

Abercynon U10's 40
Cefn Coed U10's 0

The Wolf Cubs who were shorn of numbers due to illness and various other reasons put up a valiant performance against a strong well organised Abercynon side. Tom Bush, Talyn Griffiths and Cameron Davies all shone for Cefn on a difficult morning.

Abercynon U9's 20
Cefn Coed U9's 40

The Wolf Cubs captained by Joe Reardon put in what was arguably their best performance of the season against a strong Abercynon side. From the off Cefn tackled everything that moved pushing their hosts back time and again with Ifan Roome and Aled Rawson in particular very strong. A tight 1st half saw Cefn lead by 3 tries to 2. After half time the Wolf Cubs prompted by scrum half Rhys Wilkins upped their attack and started to pull away with Molly Reardon and Cameron Davies both going on weaving runs and setting up tries. Todays team Player was Cian Roome for his bravery. Try scorers were the outstanding Jac Powell, Cameron McIntyre ( 2 ) and man of the match with 5 tries Jac Williams.

ABERCYNON UNDER 8’s  20
CEFN COED UNDER 8’s 35

The first of three games against a very good Abercynon team saw the Young Wolf Cubs set off at a blistering pace. Both sides showed their attacking intent from the start but the early initiative went to Cefn. Finley Dummett who was prominent in both attack and defence played probably his best game to date running elusive lines to score 2 solo tries, 1 an incisive interception. Leading by example captain Logan Duggan worked tirelessly in defence stopping a number of promising Abercynon attacks. Another superb performance by Elijah Morgan saw him score his first hat trick of tries in a game as he continues his great run of form. The scoring was rounded off with tries from Rowan Jones, who again showed a turn of pace that Usain Bolt would be proud of and Bradley Cox who gave 100% to the Cefn cause as always. This was yet another all round team performance with significant contributions from Joe McIntyre, Conner Stevens and Dainton Oakley. Summing up the team effort was the fact that the man of the match award was shared between 3 players - Finley Dummett, Elijah Morgan and Logan Duggan.

ABERCYNON UNDER 8’s  25
CEFN COED UNDER 8’s 25

In the second instalment both Abercynon and Cefn made a number of changes with the Young Wolf Cubs captained by Ewan McIntyre. Despite the changes both teams carried on in the same vain providing another superb demonstration of attacking rugby. Abercynon seemed to have the slight edge early on but the new found determination of the Cefn players paid off as they fought hard to earn a well deserved draw at the death. The scorers for Cefn were James Cummings with yet another brace, Elijah Morgan, Ewan McIntyre and Rowan Jones. Man of the match went to Will Bush who was tenacious in defence and determined in attack. However after another team effort special mention also needs to go to Cory Davies, Alex Regis, Rhys Evans and Connor Stevens who worked hard in defence.

ABERCYNON UNDER 8’s  25
CEFN COED UNDER 8’s 20

The final game of a thoroughly entertaining morning and early afternoon of rugby delivered another thrilling match with the level of skill on display captivating the watching parents and a credit to both sets of coaches. Captain Alex Regis lead the charge for the Young Wolf Cubs with his now trade mark bursts through the opposition defence helping to inspire Cefn. The strength and depth of the team can be seen from the range of scorers on the day with tries is this game coming James Cummings, who scored his second brace of the day, Rhys Evans and Cory Davies. Excellent in defence for Cefn were Ewan and Joe McIntyre, Logan Duggan, Connor Stevens, who came close to levelling the scores at the end, Finley Dummett and man of the match Rowan Jones.

Abercynon Under 7s 40
Cefn Coed under 7s  55

Cefn ran out comfortable winners in a keenly fought game with their tries coming from the excellent Logan Williams who scored six and was voted  man of the match.  Cefns other tries came from Cameron Mason , Iestyn Oakley with two tries and Emmie Mcintyre who scored an outstanding try on her debut and has taken to rugby as well as Paul Barsi took to the guitar. Top taggers were Rocco Davies who has played in every match this year and always gives 100%. Rossi Davies scored the final try to cap an excellent win.

Aberdare Under 7s 35
Cefn Coed under 7s  30

Cefn just came up short in another hard fought game. Captained by Ethan Mason the team played excellent rugby and scored some outstanding tries. Top try scorer was the impressive Ethan Mason who scored a hat-trick, Mason Thompson and Jean Paul Barsi got the others with Charlie Scrivens scoring the try of the match with the ball passing through four different pairs of hands. Top taggers were Joshua Morgan and Max Bennett. It has been really pleasing for all the coaching staff to see how  every  single player has improved from week to week but more importantly how the team have bonded and improved as a team. If the team continue to improve at this rate they will not lose many more matches this season.

Abercynon Under 7s 25
Cefn Coed under 7s  10

Cefn played the last game with a very young team and put up a great display. Captained by Solomon Entwistle  the team tagged everything that moved and sometimes things that didnt move. Cefns tries  both came from their man of the match Iestyn Oakley . Connor Friel also had an outstanding game  with Emmie Mcintyre top tagger  along with Joshua Bull. Cefn displayed good ball handling skills and  nearly crossed the white line on a number of occasions.

St Josephs Under 11's  15
Cefn Coed Under 11's 17

This was a tight and entertaining game for the parents and supporters of both teams.  The young Wolves came out strong with good defence and attacking from the go.  Strong work from the forwards ensured that good ball was fed to the backs, and whilst they had to be encouraged at times from the coaches to re-align they can now see that when they are in the right place then they can defend properly.  Jordan (Syd) played as if St Joe's had stolen his X-Box, ferocious tackling, great rucking and strong running with ball in hand makes him today's Man of the Match!  The first half was hard graft for both teams, going into half time nil nil.  Then from a penalty near the opposition try line put a very determined Kian Beddis over for the first try of the game, which he then converted with a drop goal.  Undeterred St Joe's came back and upped their score by two tries.  Then during a breakdown in the red zone Josh Evans looked up, seen a gap and went over for their second try. St Joe's answered this with their third of the match putting the score at 12-15 to them.  Again from a breakdown in the opposition 22 Thomas Sullivan picked up and drove over the whitewash to score the winning try for Cefn.  Ethan Parks coming in at pace to receive the ball from a  tap penalty, shows how much ground can be gained when your running onto the ball and not receiving it standing still.  Conner Cohen played well at 10 and was today's captain.  Tackling does need to improve as well as play from the mid field, but this is a positive step in the right direction.  A tremendous performance today, WELL DONE!

St Josephs Under 9's - 20
Cefn Coed Under 9's - 60

The Wolf Cubs travelled to Newport for their 1st ever fixture against St Josephs, and from the off attacked at pace with Captain Cameron Davies's dummy sending the whole St Joes team the wrong way and send him scampering down the wing to score the 1st of his 2 tries.  Cefn's off loading in contact was a joy too watch with Cameron McIntyre particularly good and shows all the hard work the team do in training. Top Tacklers on the day for Cefn were  Ifan Roome and Rhys Wilkins with Molly Reardon going on several weaving runs. Jac Williams had a barnstorming game scoring 4 tries but man of the match has to go to Jac Powell who scored 6 ( six ) tries.

St Josephs Under 10's - 25
Cefn Coed Under 10's - 20

The Wolf Cubs captained by Evan Bennett lost by the odd score in a pulsating see saw battle, the scores being level at half time after Cefn scored ties by Tom Bush , Jac Powell and Tyler Watkins. The 2nd half being a much tighter affair with defences on top, Joseph Davenport and Cameron Jones putting in some strong tackles, with Dafydd Jones and Dafydd Day making good ground before releasing Tyler Watkins for his 2nd try. man of the match for Cefn was Dylan Jenkins who put in an outstanding performance on the day.

GARNDIFFAITH UNDER 8’s - 10
CEFN COED UNDER 8’s – 25

What must rank as one of the under 8’s best performances of the season to date they ran in to a 25 point lead with some excellent inter play and attacking rugby. Leading the way was man of the match James Cummings scoring a hat trick of tries superbly supported by captain Rhys Evans who scored a brace. A determined Garndiffaith team fought back bravely scoring 2 late tries as Cefn made a number of substitutions. However this was a real team effort with all of the young Wolf Cubs contributing in both attack and defence with Ewan McIntyre, Will Bush, Connor Stevens and Cory Davies all tagging doggedly. Making his first appearance for Cefn was Logan Duggan who showed up really well contributing to a well deserved win.

RHYMNEY UNDER 8’s - 20
CEFN COED UNDER 8’s – 5

In their second game of the day Cefn came up against a well drilled home team who started at a bristling pace. However captained by Joe McIntyre Cefn defended resolutely winning a number of turnovers before Rhymney ran in for the first score. Following a blood bin injury to James Cummings after a clash of heads, Rhymney took control and quickly ran in 2 further tries after some well worked back play. The young Wolf Cubs never let their head’s drop and Alex Regis lead the charge bustling his way through the home defence clearly following in his father’s footsteps. A superb brake and score by Cefn’s man of the match Rhys Evans brought Cefn’s only try before Rhymney rounded off a very good performance with another well worked try. Excellent in defence for Cefn were Rowan Jones, Bradley Cox and Joe McIntyre.

 HAFODYRYNYS  UNDER 8’s - 10
CEFN COED UNDER 8’s – 5

In a very competitive game both team’s played excellent attacking rugby from the outset. However this was a game dominated by 2 very good defences. An early score by Hafodyrynys was cancelled out following one of his trade mark mazy runs by Cory Davies who went in at the corner to level the scores. Thanks to some superb work in defence and attack by Cefn’s man of the match Finley Dummett and supported by Alex Regis, Captain Logan Duggan and the ever enthusiastic Elijah Morgan the young Wolf Cubs could have easily sneaked the win but a late score at the death gave Hafodyrynys a hard fought victory.

Cefn Coed  under 11s 0
Abergavenny under 11s 40

Some of the players today put a lot of effort into the game, Ethan Parks, Joshua Evans, Josh Evans and Gabe Morgan are a few that stand out.  Although they were up against a well drilled and physical team they played until the end with their heads up.  There is lot of talent in this team, but whatever is taught during training seems to be forgotten by Sunday mornings and its the defensive line that suffers for the backs, and the technique at the breakdowns which is shown during training by the forwards is not taken onto the pitch.  The coaches put a lot of time and effort into the training sessions, normally 2 per week, and it must be so frustrating for them to see it work well then, but to see it fall apart during a game. Players! what your taught off the field will help you on the field.

Cefn Coed Under 10's 25
Abergavenny Under 10's 10

The Wolf Cubs continued their good run of form with another excellent win, with strong running, tackling and rucking from all the boys, in particular Tomos Jones carried the ball well, and Oliver Rees and Dafydd Kyte both made darting runs. Cefn's tries came from Tom Bush ( 2 ) Dafydd Day, Cameron Jones and Tyler Watkins. Special mention to newly qualified referee Ian ( Baz ) Broome who took charge of his 1st game, and has now sworn to support all referees decisions!!

Cefn Coed Under 9's 30
Abergavenny Under 9's 5

The Wolf Cubs captained by Rhys Wilkins put in another strong performance though were made too work hard for their points, with their tries coming from Jac Williams ( 2 ) Jac Powell ( 2 ) Joseph Reardon, and Jac Davenport with his 1st try for the club. However 2 players really shone out with their performance, Elis Sullivan who put in several excellent tackles and man of the match Charlie Sears who made several breaks which set up tries for the Wolf Cubs.

CefnCoed Under 8’s  30
Abergavenny Under 8’s  20

The Wolf cubs were captained for the first time by the excellent Connor Stevens who lead by example with some excellent defensive tagging and determined runs with the ball in hand when having the opportunity.
Will Bush opening the scoring for Cefn with some superb support play from a great passing run between Captain Connor Stevens ,Evan Davies and Rhys Evans.
Abergavenny replying with a good try of their own, from the start it was the home side to have the run of the possession with excellent handling & passing skills shown by Finley Dummett ,Joe McIntyre & Cory Davies.
Abergavenny were also playing some lovely open rugby by running in 4 try’s in total, which could have been more if it wasn’t for the excellent defence from Cefn , Alex Regis again very good, but top tagger was the excellent Daiton Oakley.
It was team work and support play that won the game for Cefn in the end with elusive runs from James Cummings that set up try’s for the supporting Rhys Evans , again showing that he knows where the try line is Ewan McIntyre finished of a weaving run with a try.
Elijah Morgan picking up an Abergaveny knock-on, again passing and supporting to score a well worked try for the cubs.
Every Cefn player could of been candidate’s for man of the match, but for his great support play which earned him 2 x try’s it went to Rowan Jones.

Cefn Coed Under 7's 10
Abergavenny Under 7's 30

The Wolf Cubs played well in the first half with Peter Richmond and Connor Friel scoring a try each. however Abergavenny proved too strong in the 2nd half running out worthy winners.

Cefn Coed Under 7s 25
Merthyr  Under 7's 45

Cefn welcomed Merthyr to the School field and an excellent, flowing game of rugby followed. Captained by Charlie Scriven,  The Wolf Cubs had a number of boys who made their debuts including Cameron Williams and Rossi Davies but it was debutant Ethan Mason who caught the eye scoring two excellent tries and nearly completing his hat-trick. Cefns other tries came from Peter Richmond and two corkers from Joshua Morgan and Connor Friel. Top taggers were Keigan O’Sullivan, Iestyn Oakley  and Jon Paul Barsi. The team spirit within the team in both victory and defeat is evident for all to see and a credit to the club.

Cefn Coed Under 8s 10
Merthyr Under 8's 40

Captained by Elijah Morgan the Wolf Cubs  got off to a perfect start with a try from Man of the match Cory Davies. Merthyr then hit back immediately and scored a number of well executed tries. James Cummings pulled another one back for Cefn who battled all the way until the end.  Connor Stevens made an impressive debut making some fine runs and was top tagger along with Wil Bush and Alex Regis. Cefn could have let their heads go down but finished the stronger team at the end and were unlucky not to reduce the deficeit .

Cefn Coed Under 9's 25
Merthyr Under 9's 0

The Wolf Cubs entertained local rivals Merthyr and an excellent game of rugby was played by both teams. Merthyr enjoyed the lions share of possession with superb ball retention skills but couldn't penetrate the strong Cefn defence with Joseph and Molly Reardon in particular pulling off several superb tackles.  Cefn's 1st try came after a searing break from Rhys Wilkins put  Jac Powell over in the corner for the 1st of his 2 tries. The Wolf Cubs then upped the pace and after a strong run by Jac Williams his off-load in the tackle put man of the match Cameron McIntyre over the line.  On the stroke of half time debutant Charlie Sears made a superb break but unselfishly passed to the supporting Elis Sullivan to touch down.  The 2nd half was end to end stuff with Merthyr in particular trying their training ground moves, but the Wolf Cubs more direct approach prompted by Scrum Half Cameron Davies and forwards Ifan Roome and Jac Davenports surging runs stole the day. The scoring was rounded off after a weaving run from Jac Powell released Cefn's Captain Cian Roome to dive over the line.

Cefn Coed Under 10's 12
Merthyr Under 10's 5

If form and paper are what Rugby were played on then no-one really gave Cefn a chance in this local derby, but the Wolf Cubs superbly led by Captain Scott Broom threw these out of the window as their tore into their visitors from the off, and indeed from a turnover man of the match Cameron Jones burst through a gap to dive over. The Wolf Cubs were relishing the contact areas and pushed the visitors back constantly forcing them into errors and to conceding penalties, and it was from a quickly taken penalty that Talyn Griffiths put Tom Bush away to increase Cefn's lead, Tom also converted his own score. After a stern talking to at half time Merthyr came out in the 2nd half all guns blazing and from a scrum on the half way line scorched away to reduce the margin. The Wolf Cubs now knew they had a battle on their hands and they then too,  upped their game with Dafydd Day nearly squeezing over in the corner but being denied by a superb covering tackle by the Merthyr defence.   Merthyr pushed hard for a further score but the Wolf Cubs superb defence in particular Dylan Jenkins and Evan Bennett held out to the delight of all the players and home support at the final whistle.

Cefn Coed Under 7's 10
Ystrad Rhondda Under 7's 15
Captained by the impressive Coby-Jay Harris the Wolf Cubs put in another excellent display. Try scorers were  Peter Richmond and the speedy Logan Williams. Top taggers were Keegan O’Sullivan, Mason Thompson and Rocco Davies.  The cubs man of the match was the dependable Connor Friel. The Wolf Cubs showed excellent handling skills which is a credit to the hardworking coaching team of Matthew Bennett, Richard Scrivens and the famous Paul Barsi and were unlucky not to get a try in the closing moments to tie the match which would have been a fair result.

Cefn Coed Under 7's 15
Ystrad Rhondda Under 7's 15
In a repeat match the wolf cubs produced another good all round performance with everyone involved playing their part. Try scorers were Joshua Morgan, Logan Williams and team Captain Coby-Jay Harris. Top taggers were Max Bennett, Riley Morgan and Rowan Toon. Man of the match for Cefn was Jon Paul Barsi who was unlucky not to win the match for the cubs with an amazing run from his own line. Cefn  pushed for the elusive winning try late on but good defence from the visitors kept them at bay. The team continue to prove week by week and the team spirit is evident for all to see with the now famous “WE ARE CEFN RFC SONG” still ringing in the ears of all supporters.

Cefn Coed Under 8's 15
Ystrad Rhondda Under 8's 10
In a repeat match the coaching team of Rob Cummings and Damien Regis worked their magic with Cefn Coed running out as worthy winners. The Wolf Cubs displayed amazing handling skills with a vast array of pre-planned moves paying off. The best being a complicated switch move which saw the impressive James Cummings score the first of his two tries from his own half. Cefn's other try scorer was the outstanding Rhys Evans. Top taggers were Ewan McIntyre,Cory Davies and Joe McIntyre. This display should set the benchmark for the rest of the season.

Cefn Coed Under 9's 15
Ystrad Rhondda Under 9's 10
The Wolf Cubs led by Captain Jac Davenport commitment in defence ensured another victory, time and again the repelled Ystrad attacks with Cian Roome, Molly and Joseph Reardon pulling off some superb tackles when it looked like a try was on. After 2 first half tries from outside half Jac Powell had taken Cefn into a halftime lead, Ystrad drew level just after the break. But a moment of magic from man of the match Elis Sullivan where he beat  5 players on a weaving, rampaging 40 yard run to the line to score the winning try.

Cefn Coed Under 10's 10
Ystrad Rhondda Under 10's 30
The Wolf Cubs opened this game with a bang, from the kick off from Dafydd Day who placed the ball into a small space where the on rushing Tom Bush collected it on the bounce to scorch over untouched. This early shock produced a frenzied reply from Ystrad whose quick backs  notched 3 tries to gain an advantage, but just before the break a break by Captain Talyn Griffiths supported by Dylan Jenkins combined to put Tom Bush over in the corner for his 2nd try. A really committed effort from all the Cefn team where Cameron Jones was the outstanding man of the match.

Cefn Coed Under 11's 0
Ystrad Rhondda Under 11's 35
The scoreline did not reflect the effort the Wolf Cubs put in. Where several scores were missed due to errors at crucial times. Josh Evans was voted man of the match, but special mention to Hooker Thomas Sullivan who took 3 against the head. Kian Beddis and Gabe Morgan both took the game to the opposition all game, with Scrum half Connor Cohen proving a good link between forwards and backs. Cameron  Fletcher and Ethan Parks both went close to scores and top tacklers on the day were the impressive Joshua Evans and Jordan ( Syd ) Evans.

Tonyrefail Under 9's 5
Cefn Coed Under 9's 10

Captained by Jac McCarthy, the Wolf Cubs victory in their 2nd game of the morning owed as much to their defence, as to their attack. After going in at half time 2 scores up due to tries from Cameron McIntyre  and Joseph Reardon with his first for the club. The second period saw Tonyrefail totally dominate possession only for wave after wave of attacks thwarted by superb tackling especially by Cian Roome and Molly Reardon.

Llantwit Fadre Under 9's 15
Cefn Coed Under 9's 10

The Wolf Cubs last game saw them play hosts Llantwit Fadre, in a cracking game of rugby the lead changed hands several times.  Cefn were denied a try at the death which would have drawn the game as Cameron Davies was squeezed into touch at the corner. Man of the match for Cefn was captain Aled Rawson who made a superb try saving tackle JPR would have been proud of. Cefn's try scorer was Jac Williams who was assisted in his scores by Ifan Roome and scrum half Rhys Wilkins.

Cefn Coed Under 10's 0
Mt Ash Under 10's 40

The Wolf Cubs came up against a very powerful Mt Ash side. The boys however never gave up trying especially Dafydd Kyte who was making his debut for the club. Dylan Jenkins and Dafydd Jones both had strong games.

Cefn Coed Under 10's 10
Rhymney Under 10's 15

Tonyrefail Under 11's 5
Cefn Coed Under 11's 5

Max William was today's captain for the young wolves.  From the kick off of this game you could see that the boys wanted to play good hard rugby, with excellent tackling from all. Clearing out from the breakdown was under contention, as our boys were playing pathways variation, and the opponents were going over in numbers without being penalised.  Gabe Morgan putting the opposition number 10 under immense pressure from the set line outs seemed to close down the play from the black and yellows.  Man of the Match Cameron Fletcher is showing ever increasing rugby skills and became a powerhouse taking several players out of the game every time he went into contact, and presented the ball every time for the scrum half.  Ellis Roome showing some neat footwork down one of the touch lines and then offloading to keep the flow of the game.  A strong run from Ethan Parks put him over for a well deserved try.

Llantwit Fadre Under 11's 15
Cefn Coed  Under 11's 0

There seems to be a new spirit amongst the players, with plenty of well aimed tackles and good offloads.  Again the breakdown was under even more pressure, the wolves playing pathways of 1 contending but the well technique'd and formed Llantwit team were allowed to drive over the ball as a pack, playing the ref's whistle to perfection.  Thomas Sullivan leading from the front winning scrums against the head, and making hard yardage in open play, makes him man of the match.  Conner Cohen is showing more form every game he plays, and is sure to be putting points on the board soon.  Max Williams delivered good ball to his backs, ensuring to let loose Ethan Parks, and directed play at the scrums and lineouts.  Every single player looked to improve today, and although they lost to Llantwit it was only by 3 tries, which is very good going as the opposition had 5 district players on the pitch.

Josh Evans was captain for the day against a large Bargoed team.  The wolves were the first on the board as good passing skills from the backs put Ethan Parks (who played his first game since a recent stay in hospital) over the try line.  Other good ball carriers on the day were Josh Evans, Cameron Murphy, Lee Morgan and Man of the Match Max Williams.  Showing very good skills was Thomas Sullivan with clearing out at the breakdowns and good steady set piece action.  A penalty a couple of meters from the Bargoed score line was taken quickly by the the Cefn No.9, catching Bargoed unawares,  to set Kian Beddis up for a push over try.  And the final score was from Tom Bush showing good handling skills to intercept on the Bargoed line and touch down.  The Wolves showed good attacking play today but were let down by not securing the ball at the breakdown and missed tackles.

Cameron Davies scored his try after a length of the field break from Elis Sullivan who was brought down inches short of the line, and was then fed by Scrum Half and man of the match Rhys Wilkins to dive over in the corner. RTB Ebbw Vale Under 11's  42     Cefn Coed Under 11's 0

Unfortunately for the young Wolves out of the 13 players to show only 3 of these were dedicated backs.  The forwards played well at the breakdown and set pieces, but playing so many of the boys out of position soon turned into points for RTB.  The only times RTB made a positive impact on the gain line and score board was when they spread the ball wide, Gabe and Owen showing strength with ball in hand and at the breakdowns.  Josh Evans made some enterprising breaks and big tackles, but at one of restarts took a big knock during a fair but aggressive high ball, which seen the man of the match retired for the rest of the game,  which further reduced the number of available backs.  The team captain for the day was Joshua Evans, who stepped up to the plate to play in several unfamiliar positions.

Man of the match was Cameron McIntyre, who also showed great sportsmanship after accidentally hurting an opponent he went back to apologise. Cefn didnt have things their own way in this game but their defence was outstanding with hardly a missed tackle all morning even after coming under sustained pressure. .

Cefn Coed Under 10's 15
Gwernyfed Under 10's 50

A spirited performance for the Wolf Cubs 1st game of the new season with new rules. Some excellent tackling especially by man of the match Tomos Jones. Captain for the day was Dafydd Jones and Cefn's try scorers were Evan Bennett and Tom Bush with a brace of tries.

Cefn Coed Under 11's 5
Gwernyfed Under 11's  22

Strong work from the forwards gave way to well delivered ball to the backs.  On one of these occasions a quick break from Josh Evans put him over for a well deserved Cefn try.  Excellent play between the forwards created one of the most phases of play probably ever seen in Under 11's. Jaffa and Lee Morgan worked well at clearing out at the breakdown.  Good defense from some of the backs with some crunching tackles, showing Gwernyfed they were going to have to work hard for their win. To many handling errors and not retreating enough for the opposition to take penalties were their downfall on the day.  Man of the match Josh Evans. The Wolf Cubs captain on the day was Gabriel Morgan.
